As a State employee, you have a choice to make. You can become a PEF member and pay dues. Or, you can decide not to join PEF and instead pay an agency fee to cover the cost of representing you. Membership dues and agency fees are the same amount, but as a member of PEF you can:

• run for union office

• participate in contract ratification and other union matters

• take advantage of a wide variety of additional benefits, such as life and disability insurance
